I am open for multi-starrer: Aftab Shivdasani

People might have been calling ‘Bin Bulaaye Baraati’ as Aftab’s comeback, but actor insists that it’s not his comeback. In fact it was his conscious decision on his part to stay away from Bollywood for nearly 2 years.

” Aamir Khan acts in just one motion picture a year, would you call it a comeback,” asks Shivdasani. So is he trying to follow Mr Perfectionist’s footsteps in terms of choosing his films? No, I am not trying to be choosy. Actually I did not get the kind of roles I wished for so I just refrained myself from doing every film that comes my way,” admits the actor.

And he feels it was worth the wait. “Yes, I am really happy to see the large turnout. Movie is just six days old and its doing pretty well on the box office,” admits multi-starrer material. And why not i t had already gathered an all-India net collection of Rs 12 crore in first week (figure courtesy Aftab Shivdasani).

After Dabangg Khan, it’s Aftab who is sporting moustached look in the film. When asked about his look, he says, “Actually my earthy character hails from a small town. Keeping the nature of the character I have to keep moustache.” Initially when he was told to keep moustache, it took him a while but then he was ready for it. Regarding the response, he states “I am getting compliments from viewers that I can carry it off well. It’s working. But once I am done with the promotional thing, I will get it shaved off.” On his co-actor Shweta’s performance, Aftab is all praise for her, who is in news more for her item number. “I must state she has done a fabulous job in the film. I want to admit that I was not sure how well she will do, but she has made it.”

His filmography ahead boasts of multi starrers like Daddy Cool, Pyaar, Ishq aur Mohabbat, Money Hai toh Honey Hai, Kambakkht Ishq, etc. But the actor has no qualms in sharing screen space and happy to be a part of multi-starrer. So what about stories of Aftab slicing down on multi-starrers? “There is no truth in it. In fact the biggest charm of working in a multi-starrer is that expectations, success and the onus of the failure too is divided. You do not have to bear the brunt of failure all alone,” he adds.
