Fears body lay undiscovered for a year Star lived as a recluse after film career Still receiving fanmail at the very end
THE mummified remains of an ex-Playboy model who played the lead in the cult motion picture Attack Of The 50-Foot Woman have been found in her rundown Hollywood home.
The say of the remains suggests that Yvette Vickers, 82, may have lain there for a year.
Police found the badly decomposed corpse at the home where Vickers had lived for decades.
They were called after neighbours noticed fanmail piling up in her letter box and cobwebs around the doorway, the Los Angeles Times reported.
It is feared Vickers died alone and that her body had lain in the house for up to a year based on the level of decomposition.
Neighbour Susan Savage stated the find was upsetting. “To the end she still got cards and letter from all over the world requesting pics and still wanting to be her friend,” she said.
“We’ve all been crying about this. Nobody should be left alone like that.”
Vickers was Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in July 1959 and briefly dated Cary Grant.
