Beyonce: ’1 + 1′ in N.Y. Central Park

The high of selling millions of albums, headlining a big tour, and basically being a worldwide ambassador of girl power requires a major force to come down from. Last year, it took an ocean’s waves to wash away Beyoncé’s larger-than-life modify ego, Sasha Fierce. “The ocean makes me feel really small,” she states at the top of her MTV special Beyoncé: Year of 4–which aired last night.

Weird Al’s Lady Gaga parody: See it here

Who’s that pretty lady in the pic at right? That would be Weird Al (with an assist from an anonymous young woman’s ab-tastic body and much, much post-production magic), doing his ideal of Gaga’s greatest sartorial hits—the “Born This Way” egg, the bubble gown, and of course, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame meat dress.

Frank Ocean, Chris Brown Find Themselves in Twitter Feud

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (OFWGKTW) member Frank Ocean and R&B singer Chris Brown have found themselves in the middle of a Twitter feud. The ordeal began when Brown issued a compliment on Twitter to Ocean, which said: “I f— with Frank Ocean! Reminds me of a young James Fauntleroy or Kevin Cossum .” Fauntleroy, a former member of The Underdogs, has written songs for artists like Ciara, Brandy, Timbaland, Jordin Sparks, Chris Cornell and Rihanna. Cossom has worked with Keri Hilson and Mary J.

Bill Maher, Jane Lynch: Weiner roasting

Last night on Real Time with Bill Maher, the host brought out Jane Lynch to read transcriptions with him of the Facebook messages exchanged by Rep. Anthony Weiner and blackjack dealer Lisa Weiss. Big warning: Not suitable for work or young ears. But I have to say, really funny, and this may be one of the ideal performances Maher has given. His intonation and emphases suggest a man who’s really into his material. As for Lynch, she makes you forget Sue Sylvester and makes you all the more enthused for her upcoming Emmy hosting gig.

Image Credit: Francois Guillot/Getty Images Expect a surge in the Top 4′s performance level next week: Fox has confirmed to EW that Lady Gaga is set to appear on American Idol as a mentor for our remaining finalists. And before you scoff at the idea of a 25-year-old handing out career advice, remember that Miley Cyrus served as a mentor on the show last year, at the ripe age of 17 years old.

Music Review: Stone Rollin’

ROLLIN’ IN SAADIQ Stone Rollin’s main man After his recent Grammy showing with Mick Jagger, R&B stalwart Saadiq has the cred to do as he pleases musically. Here he continues along the ’60s soul-inspired path that spawned 2008′s The Way I See It, pairing it with elements of blithe Stonesish rock. Horns soar as he charms on ”Movin’ Down the Line,” and a bluesy harmonica wails next to a funky guitar riff throughout the lady-lauding title track. Stone Rollin’ is old school for sure, spun fresh. Lady Gaga visits ‘Ellen’: See ‘Judas’ clip

We’ve already previewed today’s chat between superstar Lady Gaga and Ellen DeGeneres, but now we’ve seen the pleasing chit chat between the two ladies. Looking kinda like a futuristic Norma Desmond, Gaga talked about her exhaustive Monster Ball tour (she claims she’s done a whopping 210 performances) as well as her motto for living (“I live half-way between fantasy and reality all times and that is who I am and what inspires me”).

Poly Styrene, ’70s punk pioneer, dies

Image Credit: Ebet Roberts/Redferns Poly Styrene, a fierce icon of first-wave British punk and early feminism—she was half Somalian, a teenage runaway who wore braces and howled one of the most infamous song intros ever: “Some people think tiny girls should be seen and not heard/But i think … oh bondage, up yours!“—has died at age 53, after a long battle with breast cancer.
