Tyler Hilton + ‘Larry Crowne’ = EW exclusive!

Tom Hanks is a man of many talents. Not only does he play the title role in Larry Crowne (which opens today), but he also co-wrote and directed the flick as well. And while he didn’t sew all the costumes (as Jon Stewart suggested on The Daily Show), he did coproduce the soundtrack to the film. There’s also the unreleased Tyler Hilton song “Faithful,” which EW has an exclusive stream of here. Listen below: Tom Hanks: How to survive an international press tour

Sade in concert: On the scene

I’ve never seen so many people fill a venue so huge to see so little. But then again, Sade’s tiny is a lot. Last Friday (June 24) the band, led by veteran British Nigerian songstress Sade Adu, stopped at New Jersey’s Izod Center. She surfaced from beneath the stage just after 9pm, in a sheer black shirt, matching pants and heels, and bathed in purple lighting, to sing her last album’s title track, “Soldier of Love.” To pack a venue as massive as the Izod, one might think that there would be more to Sade than what the audience got ...

“You’re going to be on time tonight, right?” Jennifer Hudson asks her man in the clip for her latest single, the piano driven “No One Gonna Love You.” Unfortunately, he has no clue what day it is—and she, now pissed off, must remind him it’s their anniversary. And so the story begins.

Google logo: Guitar strum for Les Paul

Google’s got a guitar and they’ve learned how to make it talk. In order to celebrate what would’ve been the 96th birthday of rock ‘n’ roll innovator Les Paul, the Google logo has been replaced this day by a doodle made up of guitar strings that can be strummed with your mouse. “The electric guitar brings back memories for me of exchanging riffs with friends and wearing out cassette tapes as I meticulously learned songs,” wrote Google designer Alexander Chen, in a blog post.

‘House’ boss: Cuddy exit unplanned

The character of Lisa Cuddy wasn’t expected to disappear after House’s seventh season. In fact, executive producer David Shore told EW that he was planning on Cuddy’s alter-ego, Lisa Edelstein, to be back for more after they shot the drama’s finale. Shore can’t even state if Edelstein will be back for an episode or two to properly finish her storyline. “We have to plan for her not coming back.

Bob Dylan turns 70: A salute

Dylan retains the sort of fundamental mystery that  a younger entertainer such as Lady Gaga has to work very hard and nobly to try and equal. As the rock critic Ellen Willis put it, “His masks hidden by other masks.” To take just one slight, recent example: When I reviewed his 2009 holiday album Christmas In The Heart, I described his rendition of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” as “slow, deliberate — more like a threat than a promise.” One great thing about advancing age for Dylan is that he’s always putting more distance between himself and the hoary old ...
